(7-9-11) VMRCA raced at Franklin County for the first time this year. Casey did a great job again this week. The line up was determined by the point standings and Casey would start 13th. It was a good race with only a couple of cautions and Casey finished 11th. Next week Motormile Speedway.
(7-2-11) Back to Shenandoah Speedway this week. Had a few problems and the car wasn't real fast. Casey Qualified 13th and fell back a couple spots in the race and finished 15th. We will getem' next week at FCS.
(6-30-11) It's been a while since we raced. A rain out and other problems have held us back but we are ready to go for this next 3 week stretch. Starting with another trip to Shenandoah on the 9th, then to FCS on the 16th and then to our favorite track Motor Mile Speedway on the 23rd. Come watch us race!
(5-30-11) Memorial Day at FCS. What was I thinking. Long hot day, 2 hours late starting then get wrecked by an IDIOT. Finished 9th.
(5-21-11) Our first trip to Shenandoah Speedway didn't turn out as well as we had hoped. The car started out real loose in practice and the clutch locked up so we had to push start him next time out and for qualifying. We tightened the car to much for qualifying and he started in the 16th spot. We put on a new clutch for the race and scaled the car and got it adjusted for the race. Casey passed several cars and was catching two cars racing each other in front of him. On lap 29 as he went to the inside of the 17 car, the 5 car gets into the 17, knocking her into Casey. The crash broke the right front wheel off the car and caused body damage down the right side. He finished 17th. Next race will be Franklin County on Memorial Day at 5pm.

http://www.photoreflect.com/store/ViewAlbum.aspx?a=806090(5-6-11) Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, North Carolina was the scene for Casey's first race with the Virginia Mini Cup Racing Association. After we unloaded the rain started to pour. It didn't last long and they started drying the track. We were first out for practice. Casey got to high and spun the car in turn 4 on the first lap. The track was still a little damp. The second practice they timed each car and that was how we qualified for the race. Casey picked up over a second from the first practice and started 14th out of 19 cars. On lap 2 of the race he jammed on the brakes to miss a spinning car and spun out himself in turn 1. He ran a good safe race getting faster as the race went by. After 25 laps and 5 cautions he finished 9th. We had a great time during our first visit to Ace and running with the VMCRA guys and girls. Next race is a 50 lap race at Shenandoah Speedway on May 21st. Check out new pics from Ace.
(4-30-11) Well after 3 rain outs we finally got to race. We went to Franklin County Speedway to try out our new tires and setup to run with the VMCRA. Casey ran good in practice, but not liking not having shocks on the car. He started on the pole and ran real well getting faster each lap. He finished third behind Buck Mitchelle and Brian Feazelle. Friday we make our VMCRA debut at Ace Speedway in NC.
(03-20-11) Racing season is almost here. We will be running for the Rookie of the Year title in the Virginia Minicup Association this year. Casey got his feet wet running 7 races last year at Franklin County Speedway and is looking forward to racing at different tracks this year. We will race at Shenandoah Speedway, Langley Speedway, Ace Speedway, Franklin County Speedway and Motormile Speedway. Schedule is on the left side. Come out and cheer Casey on!
(11-13-10) Last race of the year saw Casey start from the pole again. After having clutch problems in practice, the car was still pretty good after borrowing a clutch from Brian Feazell. It had a different gear on it than we normally run so we were not good on the start. The 07 jumped out to the lead followed by the 97. After the tires warmed up, Casey was able to start reeling the leaders back in. He got to the bumper of the 97 for the last couple of laps but could not get by him and he settled for 3rd. We had a great year of racing, finishing 8th in the points at Franklin county Speedway and only ran in 7 races. All top 5 finishes with a second, 2 thirds, 3 fourths and a fifth. Looking forward to next year with plans to run for the rookie of the year title with the Virginia Mini Cup Association. They race at several different tracks across Virginia and North Carolina. Thanks to everyone who helped us out this year. We cant wait to get started again.
(11-6-10) Casey had the fastest car in 1st practice, fastest in 2nd practice, started on the pole for the third straight week. He took the lead on the start and by lap 16 had everyone a lap down except for the 97 car. Then it happened. The car started slowing. Casey was driving his heart out but the car would not cooperate. Brian passed him with 4 laps to go but Casey held on to finish 2nd. So close to that first win. An axle locking collar worked itself loose and made the right rear hub to loosen causing the tire to rub the frame. He did a great job.
(10-16-10) Casey started on the pole for the second race in a row. He feel back to 2nd on the first lap and the was passed by 2 cars in the next few laps, but was staying close with some of the best racing we've had all year. After 10 laps the car was getting better, he was on the bumper of Jeff Stump. Coming through turn 2 Jeff hit the curb and got loose, Casey made contact with him and busted the nose of the car. Part of the floor pan was also dragging the ground. Casey pitted and we made repairs. He went back out and made it to the bumper of the third place car but finished 4th. Good racing all night.
(9.25.10) Casey started on the pole this week at FCS for the 25 lap mini cup race. 2nd place starter Jenifer Chitwood got the jump on the start and took the lead in going turn 1. Casey settled in to 2nd place until he was passed by Jeff Stump on lap 8. Brian Feazell passed him for third place with about 10 laps to go. Casey got up on the wheel and did his best to get back around him, even did a little bumping, but could not get the job done and settled for 4th. Next race this Saturday. Check out some new pics of the car and Casey.
(9.3.10) Back to Franklin County Speedway after a few weeks off. Casey started third out of 7 cars but the car was slow on take off and he dropped to 4th. He spent the next 17 laps chasing down the 97 car of Brian Feazell and passed him with 3 laps to go in the 20 lap race. On the last lap going into turn 3 they came upon a lap car. Casey thinking the lap car would stay low, started to pass on the high side. The lap car drifted up the track and the 97 car dove under both cars to snatch away his first podium finish. Great run still by the young driver and we will do better next time. Going back this week and try again.
(7.4.10) We had a super night of racing in Casey's first start in a minicup. Practice went well as Casey learned the track and how to run with the other cars on the track. He drew the 3rd starting spot out of 10 cars. On the start he dropped back a couple spots but as they got up to speed he moved into 4th and then to 3rd. With two laps to go he was passed for third after he slowed for what he thought was going to be a caution flag and lost third spot. While trying to regain 3rd he spun the car on the last lap and crossed the finish line backwards. He barely beat the 07 car for 4th. In the second race he started 6th and fell back a spot or two but was able to get back to finish 5th. He did a super job for his first time out.
Sunday was not as good. The car ran great in practice and he was ready to start from the pole position. When he left the pits the chain came off the car. We quickly fixed the chain and sent him around to line up. When he got to the front pits the chain came off again and he didn't get to race. He can't wait to get to go race again.
(7.3.10) It's been a long time since we raced but today Casey will be making his minicup debut at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway Va. They will be running two 20 lap features tonight and a 25 lap race tomorrow. We had a great test session last week, Casey looked like he had been driving that car for a long time. There are some new pics of the car under race photos and we will have lots more and a redesign of the website soon.
(4-1-09) First race of the year is this weekend. Casey will be running in the Heavy 160 class this year and we are looking forward to a great season.
(10-11-08) Last race of the season for Casey Cupp Racing. We moved up a class to Heavy 160 to get some seat time for next year. Casey was doing great running in sixth place and hit the breaks hard to miss a wreck in front of him. That incident caused the brake pads to stick and they caught fire while running laps under caution, he came off and was not able to continue and finished 8th. He did not run enough week end races to qualify for season ending points race. See you Next year.
(8-19-08) Casey made the Sr Honda A main tonite finishing 10th and 8th in the summer series points standings. He finished 9th in the Lite 160 A main and finished a best ever 6th place in the points. Great job Casey!
(8-12-08) Casey finished 7th in the Sr Honda B main race and missed the A main by 2 spots. He did better in the Lite 160 race, finishing 7th in the A main. One more race in the summer series next week.
(7-29-08) The third summer series race was tonight with Casey running both cars again. He qualified 7th for the B main for Sr Honda but he fell back to finish 9th, missing the A main. In the Lite 160 B main he started 7th and finished 6th and had to be the X car again but he did not make the A main. Next race August 12th.
(7-15-08) Casey pulled double duty again tonite driving in the Senior Honda and Lite 160 classes. First up was the 30 lap Lite 160 race. He started 6th and finished 5th in the A main, his best A main finish of the year. Next was the very competitive Sr honda race where he started 4th and finished 6th in the A main. Good job by the driver for staying out of trouble and taking care of the car. next race is July 29th.
(7-5-08) Casey made his debut in the Lite 160 class this week. Starting 9th in the A main race, he was running in the 7th spot when a crash happened in front of him. As he slowed to miss the wreck, he was hit from behind and pushed into another car and flipped his car on its side. He was not injured but the car was and had to drop out with a 7th place finish. He also ran the new car in Sr Honda. He started 7th in th B main and got spun around the half way mark and finished 7th. Next race is July 15 in the summer series.
(6-10-08) Running some of his best lap times ever, Casey started 4th in the A main for the first Tuesday night race in the summer series. Dad messed up the car by making an ill advised gear change before the race causing the car to not be very quick on the start. Casey made the best of it and finished 9th. Thanks to the guys at Talon Chassis for a great car and all the help at the track. We will have some new pictures of the car soon.
(6-7-08) After missing a few races we finally got to run the new car. We went down a day early to do some testing and get the car dialed in. Casey qualified 9th for the B main and finished 6th, just missing his first Senior Honda A main by 1 spot. next race is on Tuesday night.
(4-19-08) Rain won the race this weekend. Casey got to race in his heat race and finished 7th and was qualified for 6th place in the C main race. But the rain came and we dried the track and it rained again. We dried the track 4 times before we ran out of time to finish all the races. Next race is on May 10th and we will have the new car by then.(4-12-08) The first race of the year was rained out last week and we had to fight the rain this week but we got it in. The car was real lose in qualifying but we got it better for the race. Casey finished 6th in the D main and missed the transfer spot by one position. Next race is next week on the 19th.
(3-27-08) Casey's first race of 2008 will be on April 5. We tested last Friday and Casey was glad to be back on the track. We have a new Talon chassis ordered and should have it by the 3rd race of the season. We are looking forward to having a great season and cant wait to get started.
(11-3-07) Last race of the year for Casey. He ran a great race in the heat and finished 6th. He started 6th in the Cmain but he was involved in 2 incidents and wound up 9th. He was tied for 25th in the Senior Honda points, having only competed in 7 of the 14 points races. Not a bad first season for a rookie team and driver. We learned a lot and are looking forward to racing again next year. Thanks to everyone who has helped us this year.
(10-20-07) Casey ran a good lap in qualifying and started on the pole for the D main. He had a good race going but got tangled pu on a restart and finished 6th.
(10-13-07) Casey ran three races this weekend at NCQMA. He struggled with a loose car in the heat race and finished 10th. Starting last in the D main he made up to 6th and transferred to the C main where he finished 10th.
(9-29-07) Casey ran his fastest lap of the year in qualifying this week. He started 8th in the D main and finished 6th. Next 3 races are on October 13, 20 and November 3.
(9-8-07) Casey did a great job this week after we got the car handling better. He ran a lot of practice laps and we made a few adjustments and he ran the fastest laps he had run all year. He finished 6th in his heat race and finished 5th in the C main, just missed making the B main by 1 spot. Next race will be on the 29th.
(8-25-07) We made it back to the track after repairs from the damage on th 14th. We had to get a new axle, spindles, radius rods and repair the broken shocks. The car did not handle very well in practice but we kept working to get it better. This was Carolina Cup race and Casey was very excited to get to run in it. He qualified 6th for the D main and was not able to move up any and he finished 6th.
(8-14-07) We had a rough day at the track. Casey was practicing and 2 cars wrecked in front of him and he ran into them. It bent the axle, spindle and radius rods on the right front. We tried to fix it for qualifying but there was a problem with the chain. So he started 7th in the C main and was only able to run a few laps because the car was not handling very good. We will order some new parts and try to get ready for the race on the 25th. Thanks to Lynn and Cloe for helping out repairing the car. Click here for a picture of the wrecked car that is linked to jmracingphotos.com.
(7-14-07) Casey moved up to the Senior Honda class today. There were 22 cars in his class and they can only run 10 cars at a time so they have to run lower mains to qualify for the A-main. As with all rookies, Casey had to start in the rear of all races on the first day of move up. He started 7th in the D-main and ran a good safe race and finished 4th and he advanced to the C-main. He started 9th in the C-main and was unable to move up any and finished 9th. Not bad for his first time running with the big boys.
(7-10-07) Went to our first Tuesday night race. Got there early for some practice and then the rains came.
(6-9-07) Casey WINS!!! Casey picked up his first ever win in Quarter Midgets. He started first in his heat race and lead flag to flag winning his first ever heat race. Then he backed that up in the A-main starting 2nd and made the pass for the lead on lap 10 and held on for his first win in Senior Novice Move up. Way to go Casey!
(5-19-07) Casey started on the pole for the heat race and finished 2nd. In the A-main, He started 2nd and finished his best ever in 2nd.
(5-12-07) Casey moved up this week to the Senior Novice Move Up class. We took off the restrictor plates and let them go. He was 4th fastest in qualifying and started the A-main 2nd after the inversion. He ran 2nd for most of the race but got passed near the end and finished the 20 lap race in third.(4-21-07) Casey started 3rd and finished 5th in the heat race. That gave him the pole for the A-main where he finished 3rd.
(3-24-07) In his second race ever, Casey qualified 4th in the Senior Novice class. He finished the race in the 3rd position. He was excited to get his first top three finish and his first plate to go on his plaque. For every top three finish you get you receive a plate with where you finished on it to put on a beautiful plaque with the NCQMA logo on it.
(3-24-07) Casey ran his first Quarter midget race today at the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association race track. He has been in driver training for the past 4 weeks and they are ready to race. He started 2nd out of 6 cars in the heat race and finished 5th. After inverting the top 5 from the heat race, that gave him the pole for the A-main. The car was real loose for him and he held on to finish 5th. He ran a great first race, staying out of trouble and hanging on to a very loose car.
